What is the MNRE subsidy and am I eligible?
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana offers up to 40% subsidy for systems up to 3 kW and 20% for 3–10 kW.
Domestic customers are eligible for subsidy upto 7800 for any Kw above (1Kw 30,000, 2Kw 60,000, 3Kw and above 78,000) - Also eligible for common area service consumers.

How do I know what solar system size I need?
The ideal solar system capacity is calculated based on your electricity (EB) consumption. We analyze your annual usage to determine your average daily unit requirement.On average, a 1 kW solar system generates about 4.25 units of electricity per day. Using this benchmark, we match your daily consumption with the appropriate system size to ensure optimal performance and savings.
What happens during rain or cloudy weather?
During rainy or cloudy conditions, solar power generation does reduce since there is less sunlight available. However, electricity consumption also tends to be lower during such periods.In contrast, during summer months, solar generation is higher - and so is electricity usage, which balances things out over time.In cities like Chennai, rainfall is generally limited and occasional, so the impact on overall solar generation is minimal. Over the year, your system continues to perform efficiently and deliver strong savings.
What maintenance is required?
Solar power systems require very low to almost no maintenance, especially for residential installations.For most homes, basic upkeep involves cleaning the solar panels once every two weeks using a water hose to remove dust and dirt, ensuring optimal performance.Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) are generally not necessary for small residential systems. They are typically recommended only for larger installations, usually above 100 kW capacity.
